Apart from the two ladies' elegant outfits and beautifully styled hair - not to mention the very feminine way in which they are posing - these two guests could probably be anywhere in the world, were it not for the distinctive but slightly incongruous looking telephone box in the background.

Those red telephone boxes are pretty much a British 'icon'. There as here in the U.S., public phone booths are all but obsolete now that practically everyone has some sort of cell phone, however, so I can't help but wonder if the red iconic boxes will be around for much longer?
ReplyDeleteThey are iconic, I agree. There are still a few dotted around town here and there.
DeleteLovely capture of wedding guests and a phone box, which being a Dr. Who fan, I'd call the Tardis.
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting. They are similar to the Tardis aren't they?
DeleteThe red boxes have almost all disappeared and replaced by revolting glass contraptions. There is no mistaking which country the photo is taken in.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I seem to remember them having incredibly heavy doors. (not a bad thing)
DeleteI'm afraid that red phone box is taking the interest away from the two beautifully groomed wedding guests. I know they are not needed now with all the mobile phtones but I still think its a pity to see the red boxes go.
ReplyDeleteThe 'phone box has clearly caught everyone's attention. Always really interesting to read how people respond to images. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteHello Lucy,
ReplyDeleteOh how one remembers the back combed hair which stood right out from one's head!
The women look very elegant and poised, clearly a stylish wedding in the making.
And, how we recall these red telephone boxes and, of course, routemaster buses. So very London.
Thank you for following our blog, through which we have now discovered you!
Dear Jane and Lance,
ReplyDeleteThe Routemaster buses are very distinctive aren't they? I think there are one or two bus routes still using them as they are so popular with visitors.
Thank you so much for following and thanks, too, for leaving a comment.
